The World's Best Ever picked up this great photo series by Michael Wolf. Titled Tokyo Compression, it shows snapshots of passengers captured at Tokyo's subway stations at rush hour. If you're claustrophobic, don't look at these.

The folks over at CyanogenMod have announced today that the company is closing another round of funding. Building on a Series A round of funding of over $7 million to get the new company off to a start, this Series B round is bringing another $22 into the fold from investors Andreessen Horowitz and Tencent. Initial investors Benchmark and Redpoint will still be involved as well.
CM says that the new hefty chunk of capital will be put towards more team members across every bit of the company — engineering, UX, design, products and more. As for the end users of CyanogenMod, they shouldn't expect too many immediate changes. The long-tail effect of this new funding will of course be new apps, features, services and even more devices that are pre-loaded with CM. We can be sure that this is just the beginning of what CyanogenMod wants to accomplish.

Nothing says "we're serious about this" like a fax. Or at least that's what officials in Pyongyang seem to think. Yesterday morning, South Korean officials received a fax that warned, ironically, of attacks "without warning." I guess the first one was a freebie.
Prismatic for iPhone and iPad gives us a new way to discover and read news that interests us. First and foremost, Prismatic is a community. Find and follow topics that interest you and Prismatic takes care of the rest by feeding in stories that pertain to what it thinks you find interesting. Vote things up or down, leave comments, share stories, and more.
For people that don't particularly like using RSS feeds to get their news, Prismatic is a great alternative since there's literally no upkeep on your part. Just choose the topics and start voting up stories that interest you and Prismatic takes care of the rest. I've been using it for a while now and have found the categories and topics to be spot on with my interests.
Hands down the best part about Prismatic is the community behind it. Being able to engage in real time with other Prismatic users on a current article brings a social aspect to it that other news apps don't have. You can also share stories to Twitter and Facebook in just a few taps.
If you happen to try out Prismatic, let us know what you think. Do you find it more engaging than typically news and RSS apps? Why or why not?
Taking time away from the set of her self-titled talk show, Bethenny Frankel graced the cover of Health magazine's December 2013 issue.
While rocking a few poses for the Ruven Afanador-shot spread, the 43-year-old TV personality opened up moving on from her divorce from ex-hubby Jason Hobby and the criticism she faces everyday.
Highlights from Miss Frankel's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Health!
On her social media fans:
"My Twitter audience can be great. They can be harsh. Ellen says to never buy into any of it. Don't buy into the haters. Don't buy into the lovers. But I get a lot of inspiration from people on social media. I think you learn a lot about people; you learn what they like. It's a good place to connect."
On her new life:
"You have to do things to love yourself. You go through self-destructive phases, when you're in a difficult time in your life and you feel fragile and a little self-destructive. And then you have moments of being strong. You do the best you can. I'm no different from any other woman. I beat myself up. I expect things from people in relationships and don't often get what I need and have to accept that."
On her fitness routine:
"I don't have time to exercise. I could always stay thin, but I'd like to be fit. But what happens is if I go for four days to a spa, I'll work out for four days. It comes back. But I have to get a rhythm, and it's hard right now. I want to be a great mom and spend a lot of time with Bryn, and I'd never take an hour away from her to work out."
On her body:
"I'm not overly concerned. I like that I have a nice figure, but I don't feel any pressure about it. It's not the thing that people identify me with. I mean, they do, but it's not who I think I am. I'm flawed. I've created a success based on being flawed."

Hitting the red carpet with the braniacs was Lana Del Rey, who looked glamorous in a silky and lacy cream-colored gown.
Hosted by Kevin Spacey, the event gives $3 million to scientists who contribute significantly to the advancement of research in life sciences and other areas.
